The Government has announced new liabilities for the construction sector for improved consumer protection.

By 2026, Minister Penk intends to implement mandatory 10 year warranties for residential building projects valued at more than $100,000.00, requiring construction professionals, involved with design, to have professional indemnity insurance, and lifting the threshold for Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) disciplinary penalties.
