Founded by Zane Dykman in 2018, Ze Build’s goal was to offer Auckland residents personalised, expert and top-notch building services, regardless of the size of the project. Ze Build was awarded the prestigious title of the Fastest Growing Construction Business for Auckland and the Upper North Island in the 2023 Deloitte Fast 50 awards and was named Deloitte's second fastest growing construction business nationwide.

Zane and the Ze Story

From One Man and a Van to a Powerhouse

It started with a van, a trailer and one guy who refused to settle for the status quo. In 2018, Zane Dykman went all in on an idea: build a construction company that actually cared … about the details, the people and the bigger picture. Just real work done right (no matter the size or value).

Fast forward a few years and Ze Build is no longer the underdog. It’s one of the fastest-growing construction companies in the country, recognised by the Deloitte Fast 50 for rapid, sustained growth in the building sector. But growth wasn’t the goal, excellence was. The kind of excellence you earn by showing up every day, solving every problem and giving clients a building experience they’ll rave about (not recover from).

How We Got Here

Zane didn’t take the traditional path and that’s exactly why it works. While others were bogged down in red tape and shortcuts, he doubled down on quality, care and communication. The early days were nothing but hustle: long hours, small jobs, learning on the fly. But every satisfied client led to another. Every little detail was a foundation laid. Ze Build grew because people talked … and what they said was good.

Even during Covid, when most of the industry was stuck in reverse, Ze kept moving forward. Pivoting. Planning. Turning renovations and reclads into trusted long term partnerships.

What It Looks Like Today

Today, Zane leads a multi disciplinary crew of absolute weapons:
Ze Build (construction), Ze Plumb & Gas, Ze Spark (electrical), and Ze Earthworks. Together, we can cover the full building lifecycle.

It’s a family values powerhouse. Still gritty, still humble but laser focused on premium execution and client experience.
